The new show by The Ciclomáticos Theater Company written and directed by Ribamar Ribeiro brings the Brazilian popular culture as a keynote in this montage. The director immersed himself in the universe of popular theater, medieval farces and Brazilian festivals to tell the traditional story of Catirina and the language of the ox. In this universe, Ribamar Ribeiro also researched the folk tales of Câmara Cascudo creating his own contemporary universe in the staging. The purpose of this new show, which is the tenth of the repertoire of the Os Ciclomaticos Company, is to enchant children and adults through popular stories and thus resize this popular context in a universal way.

"Big House and Senzala - Brazilian Musical Manifest", by Ribamar Ribeiro

It is the 9th show of the Company that received the 2011 Scenic Assembly Award from the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro. It is inspired and exudes freely in the controversial work of Gilberto Freyre as a text and an excuse to tell, through songs and legends, a little of what today is the Brazilian people. Starting from the Indians, blacks and Portuguese, passing through the song of the washerwomen, the sertanejos and the popular poetry of the sambas de enredo, the show brings, through an anachronistic and non-linear narrative, referenced by the Revista de Teatro, a little of this Brazil that lives in each one of us. This Brazil, once a boy, now a teenager, sung by The Ciclomáticos Theater Company, with authorship and direction by Ribamar Ribeiro, is a little bit of all of this, of this tasty mixture, of these beautiful people. It is a bit of this story that continues to be written by each one of us.

"Before the Rooster Crows", by Fabíola Rodrigues e Ribamar Ribeiro

It pleases not only children of all ages, but also adults. With text by Ribamar Ribeiro and Fabíola Rodrigues and direction by Carla Meirelles, the text develops between secular trees and flowering meadows, paws and wing animals do not mix, until Sabiá Laranjeira Junior falls in love with Gata Malhada do I kill, creating divergence among the animals of the forest that do not approve of the romance. To live this love, those in love will have to face all the difficulties imposed by the two families.

The text is a fable, together with fairy tales about the almost impossible love between a cat and a thrush (enemies by nature), addressing the difficulties encountered by the couple in a light and fun way. The play was inspired by the classic work Romeo e Julieta, by William Shakespeare, and as a research base, the short stories by Hans Cristian Andersen and Irmãos Grim, as well as the children's text by Jorge Amado O Gato Malhado and Andorinha Sinhá. The book The Psychology of Fairy Tales served as an interpretive basis, assisting in the direction and scenic construction.
